Severe hailstorm with more to come hits Maltese Islands
A heavy hailstorm has hit the Maltese islands, with several parts of Malta reporting the phenomenon as the temperature has plunged further.
Motorists are finding slippery roads and driving in these conditions is not made easier as ice accumulates on the surface.
The last few days have seen a deterioration of the weather conditions and the situation is not expected to get any better in the next few days.

‘Monster’ hail, wild winds lash parts of Darling Downs, Australia

LARGE hailstones and damaging winds have smashed into parts of the Darling Downs after severe thunderstorms swept over the region.
“Monster” hailstones and heavy rainfall was reported at Leyburn, Clifton and Allora about 4pm yesterday.
Car windows were smashed and properties damaged during the storm.
Up to 45mm fell in just half an hour in parts south of Toowoomba.

Strong winds brought down trees at Yarraman and areas north-west of Toowoomba.
The Bureau of Meteorology is forecasting rain for Toowoomba and the Darling Downs today with the chance of a thunderstorm late this afternoon.
