Hundreds of dead fish found in a river in Paysandu, Uruguay

The Columbus Citizens Environmental Assembly on Sunday denounced the emergence of hundreds of dead fish in the river La Leche, in the junction of Route 135 leading international Paysandu (Uruguay). Local residents reported the news during this weekend.
It was indicated that the dead fish are mostly sunfish and sabalines and some catfish. Since the Assembly was invited to the Department of Environment of the Municipality of Columbus to investigate the situation and the action alleged to dump hazardous substances watercourse.
They also made the same request to the city council members to communicate through it to the Administrative Commission of the River Uruguay (CARU) and the provincial Ministry of the Environment.
