New Eruptive Fissure Inside Crater Confirmed At Telica Volcano In Nicaragua

INETER and SINAPRED confirmed that a small amount of lava was erupted from a small new fissure into the crater of Telica during the night, as bright glow had suggested. A warning was issued not to approach the crater because of the risk of sudden explosions.
Shortly before dawn, weak ash emissions occurred from the crater, which since then has remained relatively calm, producing only a small intermittent steam/gas plume mixed with some light ash content.
