Plane crashes into a tree injuring the pilot in Edenbridge, Kent, UK
The elderly pilot whose plane crashed into an oak tree in Edenbridge leaving him trapped among debris has been taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
The incident happened at around 3.20pm today following reports the plane had come down in a field near Lingfield Road and near to Hackstead airstrip.
All the emergency services attended and the man was rescued.
SECamb said the man was taken to hospital with possible neck and chest injuries.
A spokesman said: “We were called at 3.20pm to reports of an aircraft which had crash landed near to Hackstead airstrip. An elderly man was treated at the scene by ambulance crews before being taken to Tunbridge Wells hospital with possible neck and chest injuries.”
Kent Police said earlier: “Police were called to a field in Lingfield Road in Edenbridge at 3.26pm after receiving a report that an aircraft had come down.
“Kent Fire and Rescue Service and Secamb are also attending.
A man is reported to be injured and officers are at the scene. There are no reports of anyone else in the aircraft.
“The Aircraft Accident Investigation Branch have been informed.”
