Yellow Warning Issued For Dense Fog In Parts Of The UK

Fog or freezing fog patches will quickly become more widespread later on Christmas Eve, and will also be dense in places. Not everywhere will see fog, but where it does form, the visibility may fall to around 50 metres at times. Fog will tend to thin and lift in western and some central areas of England overnight, but will be slow to clear on Christmas Day in the east, perhaps persisting for much or all of the day in parts of Eastern England.

#Flood Alert In Force For Tidal Thames Riverside From #Putney Bridge To #Teddington Weir, #UK

The river flow at Teddington Weir is normal for this time of year at 82 cubic metres per second and is falling slowly. We anticipate the flows to remain normal for the next few days. The forecast high tide at Richmond will be 4.65mAOD at 15:45 GMT on Monday 24th December with a moderate confidence and 4.60mAOD at 04:15 GMT on Tuesday 25th December with a moderate confidence. Astronomical tide levels peak tomorrow afternoon. The locations potentially affected by flooding are Putney Embankment (SW15), Chiswick Mall and Strand on the Green (W4), Thames Bank at Mortlake (SW14), Ranelagh Drive (TW1), Friars Lane and Water Lane (TW9), Riverside and The Embankment at Twickenham, and the Towpath below Teddington Lock.
