The most complicated situation brought about by Cyclone Daniella that has recently covered Belarus is expected from 6am to 12pm on 12 January, BelTA learned from Natalia Shingel, inspector of the Minsk oblast department of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry. The blizzard has caused traffic jams in Minsk. Many roads in the capital are gridlocked due to 22cm of snow. Public transport has been operating with considerable delays. Commuters have been leaving buses and trolleybuses caught in the snow, being forced to continue their trips in foot. The cyclone is moving from the south-west of Europe across the central regions of Belarus to Russia and is expected to bring more heavy fall-outs (snow and rain), storms and wind gusts of up to 18m/s.
